Two middle-aged Dunedin men are facing alcohol-related charges after driving a golf cart through central Dunedin at the weekend.
Police say the men, aged 48 and 50, attended the Otago-Tasman rugby match at Carisbrook on Saturday, before they took a golf cart, used for medical situations, from the stadium about 3am the next day.
The pair allegedly drove from Carisbrook to the Southern Cross Hotel in central Dunedin, Senior Sergeant Mel Aitken told the Otago Daily Times.
When breath-tested, the men blew 1001mcg and 762mcg respectively and were charged with drink-driving, as both had driven the cart.
Both will appear in the Dunedin District Court this week charged with driving with excess breath-alcohol. One also faces a charge of obstructing police.
