The group opposed to a wind farm in central Otago are disappointed Meridian Energy is trying to fight the decision that stopped it from going ahead.
Earlier this month the Environment Court rejected consent for the $2 billion project set to be the biggest wind farm in the southern hemisphere.
The decision was a victory for those who said the farm would ruin a landscape of national importance.
But Meridian Energy says it is appealing because it makes it almost impossible to gain consent for much needed infrastructure projects.
