A high profile entertainer appeared in court to be sentenced on
an indecent act charge late on Wednesday afternoon.
The man has been fighting to keep his identity a secret, but for
the first time details can be revealed about the incident which
landed him court.
The incident occurred earlier in the year in Wellington, when the man was approached by a three women while walking back to his hotel at about 3:30am.
The entertainer through his lawyer has said that he is deeply remorseful, and that he did not know the age of the woman concerned, thinking she was much older than she was.
He has offered to pay the complainant $5000 for her emotional harm.
His lawyer is asking for discharge without convicted and permanent name suppression.
