The main road into Milford Sound is closed again.
The Milford Road highway is closed until Wednesday at the earliest due to avalanche debris blocking the road.
New Zealand Transport Agency engineer Peter Robinson says there have been several avalanches in the area over the past few days.
Robinson says some may have be related to the recent earthquakes.

He says avalanche bombing has also been carried out and contractors are working on clearing some of the debris now.
He says progress will depend on weather as more rain and possibly snow is forecast on Monday night.
