A research company has surveyed how many people think David Bain is guilty of the murders of his family.
Bain was acquitted of the five murders at the beginning of the month.
Immediately after the retrial, UMR research asked people if they thought he was, in fact, guilty.
Sixty-two percent believed he was not guilty, 23% that he was guilty and 15% were unsure.
But a subsequent poll has found 47% now believe he is not guilty, 29% guilty and 24% are unsure.
The company believes the 15% drop in the number of New Zealanders who believe David Bain is not guilty is almost certainly attributable to media stories on juror behaviour and testimony that did not reach the Christchurch jury .
