Ministry of Justice workers will ramp up their industrial action over pay from next week.

The staff involved look after the collection of fines and other paperwork at courts and tribunals.

Public Service Association secretary Richard Wagstaff says they are sick and tired of being paid less than other civil servants.

Wagstaff says the strikes will go on until there's a response from the Ministry.

He says there will be a ban on overtime and more actual strike action.

More than 1800 staff across New Zealand walked off the job on Friday morning.

They were out for two hours, in their fourth strike in two weeks.
