A two-year-old Auckland girl has gone missing from her home in Longburn Road, Henderson.

She has been missing since 5:40pm on Monday.

The girl has light brown hair, is wearing a green parker/ski jacket, jeans with embroidered flowers on them and white tennis shoes and answers to her first name Aisling -pronounced "Ashling".

Police are asking residents in the area to thoroughly check their homes, inside and out.

Police also want to hear from anyone who may have noticed a young girl walking alone in the surrounding streets of Rathgar, Kingdale and Pomaria Roads, or of any suspicious people or vehicles in the neighbourhood.
