A man accused of sexually abusing a young girl will be back in court in Auckland on Tuesday.
The man, a well-known comedian who has appeared in TV comedy shows, appeared in the Auckland District Court last month on a single charge of unlawful sexual connection with a child under 12.
He is defending the charge on the grounds he did not know he was performing an indecent act on the girl.
He reportedly told friends he was drunk when he left a media Christmas party prior to the alleged incident.
He has name suppression, initially granted until Tuesday.
