It's commonly known that models can get their claws out, but there's good reason for that in the latest modelling competition.
Forget about regular models - all the talk right now is about New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model.
It is the second year the competition has been run and more than 400 entries were received. Those have been whittled down to 10 finalists, no doubt putting out a few whiskers along the way.
For cats, it's not just about good looks and a sassy walk, they've also been hard at work to see who can raise the most money for their charity of choice.
From the curious-looking Meesha of rural Northland, to Auckland's quintessential pure-bred city slicker Cruz, the cats are battling it out to take out the title of New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model.
And there's a lot at stake. Aside from the fame, the winner takes away a hoard of prizes including a year's supply of cat food, and a cover and editorial in Pet Magazine. The owner doesn't go away empty-handed - trips, jewellery and Mitre 10 vouchers are up for grabs.
Members of the public have until August 12 to vote for their favourite feline and can check the competitors here .
The winner will be announced on August 13.
