Christchurch prison fire investigated

  • Fire at Chch Women's Prison

Investigations are underway into the cause of a fire at Christchurch Women's Prison .

Fire alarms went off just before 7:30 Friday night.

Fire Service spokesman Andrew Norris says there was only minor damage, mainly from water from the sprinklers.

He says at this stage the service has no idea what caused the fire.

No-one was injured in the fire.
