Afghan taxi drivers in Christchurch have met with transport officials to discuss policing and safety concerns following the murder of a fellow driver.
Abdhulrahman Ikhtiari was stabbed on the job 10 days ago and two men have been charged with his killing.
On Monday night, other drivers spoke about the dangers of the job and the injuries they have sustained.
Some accuse police of not doing enough when they call for help.
One driver says two people attacked him with a knife and he still has a scar. He says police caught them but "nothing happened to them, just community service".
Another says abuse of taxi drivers is rife.
"What is going on in this city. Everyone abuse you and no-one support you."
While police offered look at the drivers concerns, the meeting also discussed how taxi companies need to take more responsibility for driver safety.
There was also a call for more surviellance cameras both on taxi ranks and in vehicles.
