Christchurch Casino is plugging into the popularity of one of John Key's comments on the David Letterman show.

In his top ten reasons to visit New Zealand , the Prime Minister said we have the loosest slot machines in the Pacific Rim.

The casino is now using the comment as part of its advertising. Chief executive Brett Anderson says using the statement may actually benefit New Zealand and it is being used in the spirit of fun.

But the Problem Gambling Foundation is disappointed the Christchurch Casino has chosen to capitalise on the comments.

Chief executive Graeme Ramsey says the comment was meant to be made in a light-hearted manner. He says New Zealand has plenty of other positive things the top ten could have focussed on.
