An Auckland household has been left in shock this evening after a car ploughed into the house while they were at home.
The car went into the lounge at the address on Middlefield Drive in Flat Bush.
The occupants of the house were home, but no one was injured.
Neighbour Asha Hira told ONE News she heard a loud noise, looked out and "saw a light on the ground".
"I came out and didn't expect any of the fence or the neighbour's house to be smashed, it's just crazy."
Sergeant Rob Smith said the vehicle went out of control, clipped the fence and the front part of the vehicle crashed into the house. Only one person was in the front lounge area of the house while others were at the back.
The vehicle continued spinning around and hit the garage area, Smith said.
The driver was uninjured.
