Brooke and alleged assault victim reach agreement

An agreement has been reached between former All Black Robin Brooke and the teenager he allegedly assaulted.

Jordan Whittaker says Brooke grabbed him by the throat when he stepped in after Brooke grabbed his friend's backside at a Fiji resort.

In a statement, the Brooke and Whittaker families say they are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached which resolves all issues between them.

Brooke has apologised to Jordan and his family, and that apology has been accepted.

All other terms of the settlement are confidential.

Jordan had been reportedly seeking $200,000 in damages through a civil suit.

Both parties say they are pleased that these matters can now finally be put behind them.

On Tuesday, Brooke spoke exclusivley to TVNZ's Close Up programme and issused a public apology to the teenage girl who claims he assualted her on New Year's Eve in Fiji.

He said he accepted her version of events. Brooke said he had no memory of the incident as it was 3am and he "had had too much to drink".

The girl said Brooke had twice grabbed her backside while she was pool-side at a resort at Denarau, Fiji, on New Year's Eve.
