Body of missing canoeist found

Police report that they have recovered the body of man who went missing on Lake Te Anau whilst canoeing yesterday.

The 24-year-old man, who name is yet to be confirmed, was last seen taking his red fibreglass canoe to the lake about 10am yesterday morning.

Police undertand that the man is from overseas.

Senior Sergeant Dave Raynes said the body was located a short distance from his canoe at Brod Bay.
