Body found at Bay of Plenty beach

The death of a Whakatane man at a Bay of Plenty beach on the weekend has been referred to the coroner.

His body was found at Westend Beach, Ohope, yesterday.

The Area Commander for Eastern Bay of Plenty police, Inspector Sandra Venables, says the death of the 30-year-old man is not suspicious.

Police have not released the man's name.
