Punters will have to try yet again for Lotto's Big Wednesday prize which jackpots after tonight's $23 million package wasn't won.
Neither the first nor second division prizes were won.
The top prize package had already reached $23 million, making it the fourth largest prize in New Zealand history, after not being won since March.
When the jackpot is struck, the lucky winner will also scoop prizes including a boat and a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Staff in lottery outlets throughout the country were prepared for a busy day, as customers feeling hopeful of a big win bought their tickets.
in Auckland, Eastridge Lotto owner and operator Anne Barker said she had put on extra staff to deal with the expected queues.
She said her staff would get just as much of a kick out of selling a winning ticket as winning it themselves.
The last Big Wednesday first division prize of $11.4 million went to an Auckland family in March.
