A queen sized bed with a six-bedroom Westport house thrown in has sold in an online auction for $302,600.
The package, which had a reserve of $1, was listed on Trade Me in the beds category and when the 6.24pm auction deadline was reached on Saturday several bidders kept nudging the price up from $300,000 in $100 bids.
The bidding kept the auction alive for another 22 minutes until coming to a close with Mike, listed as being from Auckland, emerging as the buyer.
The sellers, Wayne Saggers and Kathy Wahrlich, said it had been on the market for six months but potential buyers had always run into finance problems.
Known as the Stone House, the old two bathroom, three toilet guest home has a QV of $300,000 and has been listed with a real estate agency at $370,000.
