The man accused of deliberately infecting people with HIV has had his bail refused.
Glenn Mills has been in custody since the first of 28 charges were laid earlier this year.
His lawyer says submissions on Mills' behalf and from prosecutors were heard in a judge's chambers on Friday.
The judge turned down his application for bail but the reasons for his decision will not be made public.
The 40-year-old is facing 28 charges relating to 14 victims.
Five men have tested HIV positive.
