Auckland Mayor Len Brown has offered any assistance Auckland can provide to its sister city Brisbane, as it copes with the floods affecting Queensland.
Len Brown sent a message of support to Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman this afternoon.
Three Aucklanders are already among 15 New Zealanders helping with the clean up efforts in the flood-ravaged state.
"The latest information from Queensland is that they have all the resources they need to manage the situation but we will continue to keep in touch as it progresses," said Brown.
Auckland Council trains and provides equipment to volunteer Civil Defence Response teams in Auckland. Three of the trained personnel, including an Auckland Council employee Jonathan Lowe, are among the New Zealand volunteers already in Queensland.
