Published: 11:00AM Saturday November 10, 2012 Source: ONE News

Police believe an armed and dangerous Auckland man, who failed to appear in court this week, may also have been involved in the robbery of a nightclub.

Rory Smyth, 25, is wanted on warrants for failing to appear in Auckland District Court on several charges including the unlawful possession of shotgun ammunition.

Police inquiries over the past few days have also identified him as a person of interest in relation to the aggravated robbery of Miss Q's, a nightclub in Panmure, on October 22.

During the robbery tens of thousands of dollars was taken at gunpoint by a man in possession of a shotgun.

Smyth is known to be armed and police consider him to be dangerous and not to be approached.

He is described as having a slim build and stands 180cm tall. He also has a distinctive tattoo saying "Bad boy" on the right hand side of his neck.

Police say he may be travelling with 22 year-old Shannelle Ward, formerly of New Windsor, who is descried as thin and 167cm tall.
