An Aerolineas Argentinas flight landed without incident on three of its four engines at Auckland International Airport on Thursday night, say police.

Emergency services at the airport were placed on standby when the Airbus A340-200 reported the shutdown of its No. 1 engine, said Inspector Turepu Keenan of police northern communications.

The flight, with 229 people on board, landed safely and without incident at about 10.25pm, he said.
