Aftershocks continue in Fiordland

Aftershocks are still continuing to shake Southland, after the 7.8 magnitude quake which struck the region on Wednesday night.

More than 100 aftershocks have hit the area since Wednesday.

The latest was a 5.2 magnitude quake, whoch shook Southland shortly before 9pm on Sunday.

It was centred 110km west of Te Anau at a depth of 12km.

It followed a 5.5 magnitude quake in the same region just after 5pm.
