A resident on Auckland's North Shore thought bombs were going off on Saturday afternoon when a car collided with a power transformer.
Nicholas Lee says he was sitting in the lounge of his family's Stanmore Bay home when there was a big bang outside the window.

A Vector spokeswoman says the power outage, which affected 500 customers, was caused when a car hit a transformer.
She says electricity is progressively being restored to the area.
It is the second power outage to affect North Shore residents in the past two days.
A quarter of a million people between Auckland and Northland had their power cut on Friday when a forklift hit a powerline.
Police say Saturday afternoon's incident happened in Brightside Road at around 4:30.
