ACC has been accused of asking claimants, especially rape victims, unnecessary information.

ACC requests employment and personal medical details.

Privacy Commissioner Marie Shroff and Rape Crisis told Radio New Zealand they had questions about the need for some of the information collected.

Shroff says her office received a number of inquiries about ACC's collection of information.

The forms should make it clear only information relevant to the claim was needed, she says.

ACC says it asked only for information that was relevant to the claim and did not disclose that information.
