You get the feeling Fernando Alonso is one driver who can't wait
for Michael Schumacher to line up on the grid, in his comeback to
Formula One.
The Spaniard and the German have not been best of friends on track,
with Alonso having the better of Schumacher in 05' and 06' winning
back to back championships.
But Alonso says, F1 has lacked a certain "star" factor since
Schmacher retired three years ago.
He says it's not been the same since Schmacher left the sport in
2006, and there's not better than beating a legend.
Alonso says the German would never have returned to formula one, unless he knew he'd be competitive.
Schumacher was renknowned for pushing the boundaries of
sportsmanship, case in point: the Monaco Grand Prix when he
intentionally crashed at car at slow speed to block the track and
prevent Alonso from grabbing pole position.
Alonso is now with Schumacher's old team Ferrari and the double
world champ says after a poor 2009, expect Ferrari to be back on
the pace for the first GP in March.
