Brazilian Felipe Massa said he could not wait to get back to Formula One after completing 400km at the wheel of a 2008 Ferrari in Barcelona on Saturday.

Massa, championship runner-up in 2008, has not raced since he suffered a serious head injury at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July. Testing is banned until February 1 but Ferrari broke no rules by using an old car fitted with demonstration tyres.

"I'm really happy I had this new opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Formula One single-seater on a race track," he told the Ferrari website (www.ferrari.com). "I can't wait to sit in the new car and get stuck in."

Ferrari are due to unveil their 2010 car at their Maranello factory on Friday.

The season starts in Bahrain on March 14.
