Scott Dixon has finished third at the Texas Motor Speedway, with Helio Castroneves claiming victory.

Ryan Briscoe could only manage second despite leading for 160 laps of the 225 - and only a pit stop caused him to miss out.

Dixon says he simply couldn't get the speed he wanted from the Chip Ganassi car.

He says they scored some valuable points for the team tonight, so hopefully that will keep them in the championship running.

He also called for a change in rules to make races more exciting.

Dixon says his fierce Team Penske rival was hard done by because he did have the best car.

He also says the racing needs to get better and the rules need to change to allow more difference between the cars.

It was Castroneves' third victory at Indianapolis. His third at Texas Motor Speedway.

Castroneves swiped the lead off a Lap 175 pit stop and went on to a 0.3904-of-a-second victory over teammate Ryan Briscoe.

Marco Andretti finished a season-high fourth.

Ryan Briscoe leads on 199 points, with Dixon second on 196.
