A disappointing qualifying result for the New Zealand A1GP team in the latest round of the World Cup of Motorsport in Portugal.

Earl Bamber will start from sixth on the grid for the sprint race and 11th in the feature race.

Bamber has been left to rue a mistake in feature race qualifying when he bumped the pit-lane speed limiter on his steering wheel, dropping his speed to 60 kilometres an hour.

Italy will start from pole in the sprint race, while the Netherlands were quickest in feature race qualifying.

New Zealand goes in to the event sixth on the table on 36 points, 37 behind leaders Ireland.
