Marisa Ramirez began her career at the age of 13 when a Polaroid photo of her landed in the hands of a major Los Angeles modeling agency. For the next two years Marisa worked almost every week as a print model and commercial actress, where she had the opportunity to travel the world.
After returning home to California, Marisa pursued acting and was soon booking guest roles on such television shows as "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of Our Lives" and "Roswell." After she appeared in several major music videos, MTV wasted no time asking her to be host of "Senseless Acts of Video."
Marisa originated the role of Port Charles's newest teenager on "General Hospital," Gia Campbell, in July 2000. She was nominated for a 2001 NAACP Image Award as Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Series.
Despite her busy shooting schedule, Marisa still finds time for many important causes, including AIDS/HIV research and animal rescue. She is also honored to be the national celebrity spokesperson for The Jason Foundation, the nation's leading organization for the awareness and prevention of teen suicide.
