About Simon Pound

After more than a year of reporting for Media 7 Simon Pound has traveled all around the shop to bring you stories of media people, happenings, characters and issues.

Some reports are serious, some less so, some are helpful and some are commenting on the conventions of television reporting by subverting and highlighting them.

Previously, Simon has worked as a media reporter on TV ONE's Agenda where he reported on the last election campaign, political media, ethnic media and profiles of prominent figures among many topics.

His personal highlights included following Winston Peters for a week on the campaign trail and breaking a number of stories over topics such as dodgy reporting at one of the country's largest papers, and the cost of the Working for Families media campaign.

His TV career also includes fronting the C4 documentary series The Cut.

Outside of television, Simon submits stories to Public Address Radio on Radio Live, files a Media Moment for George FM and is an occasional panelist on RNZ Nationals Afternoons with Jim Mora.

Simon spent many happy years at 95bfm - where he devised, and enjoyed hosting, the Sunday Breakfast format. These days, as a father to infant twins, Simon spends Sunday mornings changing nappies.

Radio highlights include interviewing David Irving, Theodore Dalrympye, Antony Beevor and PJ ORourke.

He has also written for, and helped produce, men's lifestyle quarterly FQ Men magazine, and has worked across fashion, music and lifestyle writing for other publications and is a regular contributor to Rip it Up Magazine. In any spare time Simon enjoys doing advertising creative freelance work.
