Masterchef Series 7:
With a sizzling new audition round and a brand new culinary
cathedral kitchen, the hunt for the next MasterChef champion is
on.
Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace are back to put more
aspiring amateur cooks through a series of increasingly difficult
cookery tasks in a brand new MasterChef kitchen.
For the first time ever, this series starts with two audition
shows, in which John and Gregg have the gargantuan task of eating
and judging an exciting variety of dishes to select the contestants
for the main competition.
With just 20 coveted places available and only 45 minutes to create a dish to impress, the heat is on. Hopefuls plucked from their home kitchens arrive in London for the auditions. One by one, they cook their hearts and souls out for the judges before they hear their fate.
With only the most delicious food leading to a place, emotions
are running high for the amateurs and their accompanying families
and friends. Once the 20 are chosen to wear the MasterChef
apron,
its straight on to the main competition. Theres no time to be
complacent, as the contestants face the ultimate elimination
challenge in a staggering new state-of-theart kitchen. Selecting
from a larder of ingredients, they each prepare one dish that
proves their culinary skill to the judges. Nerves are running high,
as any serious slip-ups will mean the end of their MasterChef
journey.
Contestants that divide the judges then have to cook again; but
this time also assessed by one of the nations harshest cooking
judges.
The surviving12 have the terrifying task of cooking for MasterChef
winners and finalists from all the past series in their first ever
restaurant-style service.
Subsequent episodes see the final few cooking under top chefs at
leading London restaurants for the paying public; opening their
culinary minds to the instinctive; sense-based cooking approach of
Michelin-starred master, Alexis Gauthier; getting in touch with
their veggie sides with an eye-opening masterclass by Yotam
Ottolenghi; trying to impress the critical palate of world class
celebrity caterer Bertie de Rougemont; and feeding the entire cast
and crew of the award-winning drama series Merlin.
But who will have the skill and potential to win the battle to
become this years MasterChef champion?
