MasterChef NZ loses its latest contestant
After wowing the judges with her Pineapple Passion Delight Cake, Serena Edwards was the latest to leave the MasterChef New Zealand kitchen.
She failed to cut the mustard in the Mexican challenge, with the judges declaring she was "cooking by colour" and telling her her time was up.
What has the experience been like?
It has been very humbling the amount of support that I have received from family, friends and the whole community. It has been great. I feel so honoured when complete strangers come over to say hello and say they are supporting me no matter what happens and that they are proud of me. Thank you, Malo aupito.
What aspects of your cooking have improved from being a
contestant on MasterChef?
That not everyone has a huge appetite like mine, so don't plate too much.
What will you miss about being part of the top 16?
Cooking, learning, and laughing in the kitchen back at the house.
What's your biggest regret about not getting further
than you did?
Not being able to cook in a Pacific cuisine challenge.
When you were evicted, what would you have changed about
the challenge which saw you forced to leave?
Nothing - everyone has a different taste palate.
Who will you miss most from the MasterChef NZ
competition and why?
The crew behind the scenes as they were great.
Which piece of advice from the judges would you consider
to be the most valuable?
Be careful with sharp knives!
What one food would you eat every day for the rest of
your life if you had to? Why?
Anything with coconut cream as it makes everything taste great.
What's next for you?
MasterChef was just a small slice of the food dream for me. There are so many more slices to come before its over. I will never stop cooking and creating dishes as it's in my blood.
