Episode 21 - Nasi Goreng

Nasi Goreng

 

Ingredients:

Pre cooked long-grain white rice

Egg, beaten

Sesame oil

Salt

Boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into strips

Raw shrimp

Vegetable oil

Chopped garlic

Finely chopped onion

Chilli, finely chopped

Finely chopped fresh gingerroot

Shrimp paste

Fresh ground black pepper

Oyster sauce

Kecap manis

 

Combine eggs and sesame oil and set aside

In a hot wok, cook the onions, chilli, ginger, shrimp paste, garlic, and pepper.

Add the chicken and shrimp and cook for a further 2 minutes

Add the cooked rice and fry 3 minutes

Add the oyster sauce and kecap manis, fry 2 minutes

Lastly add the egg mix and fry for a further minute

Garnish with chopped spring onions and shrimp crackers
