Week Nineteen Recap
Week Nineteen (starting 25 November)
Due to extended coverage of the Pike River Mine tragedy, we were only able to play two episodes of MasterChef Australia this week.
On Thursday, it was part two of the MasterClass with George & Gary. They spend some time showing contestants how to identify different cuts of meat and also showed contestants how to make Roast Pheasant with Pea Ragyu and Chocolate Fondant with Amaretto Milk. Courtney & Callum also attended a private MasterClass at Ash Street Cellar with Lauren Murdoch, where they learn to make different tapas dishes.
With only two weeks left until the finals, the final 8 have to excel to stay in the competition. In Friday's Mystery box the prize was bigger than ever. The judges tasted all 8 dishes and Claire is revealed as the winner. She won the opportunity to sit out the invention test and face the Celebrity Chef for the second time in a row
The invention test was based on the 7 deadly sins and Claire
chose which order the other 7 contestants got to select their
sin in. Courtney had envy, Adam - wrath, Callum - Gluttony,
Aaron - pride, Alvin - greed, Jonathan - Lust, Jimmy-Sloth. They
each had to make a dish that evokes each sin. Alvin's dish came out
on top while Jonathan, Jimmy & Courtney are the bottom 3 and
will face a pressure test on Monday.
