Garam Masala. I add it to everything. It's the only ingredient you
need to add that special flavour.

dinner?
Lunch. Especially long ones that don't require me to go back to
work.
What dish would be the way to your heart?
Anything Malaysian.
What are your favourite tunes to cook to?
Jazz.
What do you think you'll learn from being on
MasterChef?
The ability to learn other cuisines other than Indian.
Which judge makes you the most nervous?
Matt Preston.
Tell us about how you got into cooking and how old were
you?
My parents owned an Indian spice shop when I was growing up, so
cooking has always been a big part of my life at a very young
age.
What's the first meal you remember cooking and was it a
success or a disaster?
I was about nine years old.
What three ingredients would you take with you to a
desert island and what would you cook with them?
Garam Masala. My special curry paste and chocolate.
If you were having any three people, alive or dead, over
for dinner, who would they be and what would you cook for
them?
George - I'd cook a very special curry. Philip Vakos - I'd cook
proper Greek food. Paul Keating - anything.
What inspired you to go on MasterChef?
My friends and family encouraged me to apply for the show.
