Team NZ grab their first win

Team New Zealand has been amongst the winners on day one of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour.

The 2007 America's Cup finalists have beaten Damiani Italia Challenge by 22 seconds in the third race of the day.

French K-Challenge came from behind to beat Team China in the opening race of the day, while Great Britain's Team Origin led from start to finish against Italy's Luna Rossa.

America's Cup holders Alinghi overcame a poor start to demolish the newly formed Greek Challenge in the final race of the day.

BMW Oracle Racing and South Africa's Team Shosholoza had byes on Friday and open their regattas on Saturday.

Racing is scheduled from January 30th to February 14th (with reserve days on February 4 and 10) but is subject to weather conditions.
