A Lost super fan speaks
As you know, Lost is now in its Final Season.
But for many the transition to a life without Lost will be a
difficult one.
Including Lost superfan,
Matt of Studio 2
Live.
We asked him for some thoughts on the final season - and also the show's past.
What's been your favourite Lost moment of the series -
and why?
I've got to go with the first time the 'black smoke' made
an appearance in all its clicking whirring awesomeness! It
was just so menacing and so bizarre, definitely one of those
"Whhaaaaaaaaaa???" moments.
Who's your favourite Lost character - why and what's
been your most memorable moment of them?
I've always been a big fan of Hurley. Just how he
manages to continue living on an island with a limited supply of
food and maintain such a peak level of physical fitness is a
constant source of wonderment.
Which Lost character do you reckon you're most like - and
why?
I'm probably a little bit like Sawyer. Rugged good
looks...southern charm...blonde....umm. Okay maybe not.
How about Jack? Nah he's kind of annoying the further into
the series you get. Kate? She's a chick so it'd be kind
of weird if I chose her...plus she's a criminal so hardly a good
role model for the younger generation. Can I pass?
Which of the Lost numbers is your favourite?
Easy. 15. My birthday's the 15th
January. Presents can be sent to me c/o Studio 2, TVNZ, 100
Victoria St West :D
Which Lost death shocked you most - and why?
I'm still getting my head around the fact that Locke is
dead. This new 'pseudo Locke' is creeping me out.
The Lost mystery you've spent most time wondering about
is...
I'm so rubbish at the whole mystery thing with Lost.
There are so many of them I forget which have been explained
already. Ummmm...the polar bear springs to mind instantly
though. Come on...a polar bear on a tropical
island. That's like..a...parrot in Antarctica. (PS if a
new show appears on TV2 starring a parrot at the south pole I'm
suing someone).
The best Lost theory you've heard is....
That all the world's a stage, and all the men and women
merely players. And all the island's a magnetic rift in the
time space continuum, and the black smoke merely someone's
intergalactic passing of wind.
The best moment of Lost: The Final Season has
been...
All of it! I'm just hanging out for each new
episode...but at the same time dreading each new one, because that
means I'm one step closer to the end of the series. It's like
that point in your life where you realise you don't want to get
older anymore, the complete opposite of what you wanted when you
were young!
How do you think it will end?
To be honest, I know I'll still be as confused as I have
been throughout the entire series, no matter how well they attempt
to explain things. I'll still be sitting there with a blank
look on my face, one eyebrow slightly raised but basking in the
complete and utter epic-ness of it all.
How will you fill the Lost hole in your life?
Simple. DVD box sets.
