The TV ONE Week That Was

It's been the school holidays and with the rugrats around, you may not have had as much time as you'd like to catch up on your favourite TV shows.

So here's a chance for us to showcase the best of the week on TVNZ Ondemand so you can make sure you haven't missed out - or if you saw something which rocked your socks and want to watch it again.

It's been a tragic week for news what with the earthquakes in Sumatra and also in Samoa - follow the latest events as the aid begins to fly in by keeping up with tvnz.co.nz's news team here - and  Close Up has been keeping abreast of events abroad.

On Thursday night, the Close Up team broadcast a special programme from Samoa, telling the stories and hearing first hand the accounts of what happened - watch Close Up on the Samoan tsunami again here. And Breakfast kept us informed as well as the situation unfolded - see highlights from Breakfast here!

Also this week we said our goodbye to a New Zealand hero as we farewelled Sir Howard Morrison, who died at the age of 74. A moving tribute screened on Sunday for Sir Howard - you can watch Haere Ra - Farewell Sir Howard for free here. Don't forget, you can also watch highlights from Good Morning's recent Sir Howard Morrison birthday celebrations here.

A new series of The Hotel Inspector began on Saturday on TV ONE  with new bossyboots Alex Polizzi taking charge of failing hotels and their owners - the first episode saw Alex appalled to find less than desirable hairs in one of the bathrooms - watch The Hotel Inspector here!

Gordon Ramsay Cookalong Live may have finished (don't forget you can get all the Cookalong recipes here - and watch Cookalong training videos as well) but the competition's starting to heat up in Masterchef Australia with pressure tests and eliminations ramping up the excitement in the kitchen. Watch this week's Masterchef Australia episodes free  here - and you can also get Masterchef Australia recipes here! And on the food front, why not check out the best that Aotearoa has to offer by watching episodes of New Zealand On A Plate.

The drama - and heartache - also continued in Weatherfield this week in Coronation Street. Tired of Vernon, Liz told him to pack his bags - no doubt the fall out from that will affect the Street for a while to come. Catch up on the latest Coro Street episodes free here - and don't forget to take a wander down memory lane and revisit some of Weatherfield's classic characters on our extensive Coro Street website!

If you fancy losing yourself for an hour, then there's plenty on offer on TVNZ Ondemand - get the latest news and free episodes from the Attitude team; you can catch up on the latest episode and missing person's case with Jack Malone and the gang in Without A Trace ; see how Rufus Sewell's Dr Jacob Hood manages to always save the day in free episodes of Eleventh Hour and revisit the latest Rafter family drama in Packed To The Rafters.

But perhaps the highlight of the week (if we had to choose) is The Fair Go Ad Awards 2009 - if only to see Kevin Milne in a completely different light! See which ads the judges rated and hated here! And check out the hilarious behind the scenes pics from this year's Fair Go Ad Awards show!
