I Love Myself: Book review
by tvnz.co.nz's Kate Marshall
I Love Myself is truly and utterly gorgeous in every single way
imaginable.
Angela Smith has cleverly translated her life coaching skills for adults into a highly creative and colourful book for children, in a bid to spread the love in our lives and the choices we make from that.
As Smith says herself, when we open our hearts, big things happen to us. And indeed they do, for anyone who has had the pleasure of reading this wonderful book will know.
In short, it's one uplifting message from start to finish.
The pages are littered with beautiful drawings (drawn by both adults and children) in an array of vibrant colours with each page brining a new, positive and loving message to the reader.
And each affirmation offers advice about every day concepts such as giving, sharing, loving and helping others that is simple for any child to understand.
I Love Myself should be an essential item in any book case at Primary schools around the country. Not only is it visually stimulating, it's thought provoking and mentally challenging from the messages it conveys.
If books have the ability to enthuse others, then the inspirational message this one is sending out is going to make every parent, a happy one.
Its sequel, 'I Love Mum and Dad' is currently in the making so if I Love Myself is anything to go by, it's set to be another hit for Smith.
