Hogan knows best

Juliette Hogan brought us back to the future with her Winter 09 collection at Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

Entitled Mind Your Manners, Hogan showed simplistic yet sophisticated fashion seemingly inspired by the 1940s and 50s.

Floral patterns and delicate colours were a feature as Hogan displayed her third solo collection at the Auckland Viaduct.

A solo trumpeter set the scene for the show as the standing room-only audience at Shed 2 waited for the models.

And certainly Hogan set herself apart right from the off from some of the earlier brash colours of World or Kirrily Johnstons collection inspired by the "underground opium dens of Paris and Shanghai".

Her designs were a mix of pale, cream and greys, with occasional bursts of violet. Accessories were kept to a minimum with simple chunky shiny boots and black belts on show.

Jackets were slim and fitting with the only extravagance coming from some star splattered skirts and tops.

Mind Your Manners was a subtle, classy and wearable collection which will continue to build Hogans profile.
