Staying warm doesn't mean you have to sacrifice being stylish this winter.
While it's tempting to hide underneath a big puffer jacket, there are plenty of options for layering that will keep you warm and fashionable.
Breakfast's resident fashion expert and stylist Jackie O'Fee shares her expert advice on how to look fabulous while keeping warm.
Jackie recommends starting with the basics. If it's really frosty where you are, embrace winter underwear and layer woollen camis or singlets under your top.
Merino knits are another popular winter staple in New Zealand with many kiwi woman choosing to layer long sleeve merino tops under their favourite tunics and tops.
But if you're looking for something a bit more on trend, Jackie suggests embracing the fake fur trend and keeping warm with a fake fur vest or collar.
Layering is a great way to keep warm without adding too much bulk to your look. As Jackie points out, "a lot of women, they want to be warm, not bulky."
Start with a merino singlet or a cami under a long sleeved t-shirt or blouse with jeans or corduroys and layer over with a cardigan. Top off with a jacket, a warm scarf and the perfect winter boots and you'll be snug and stylish.
Jackie says those winter accessories like scarves and hats are the ultimate way to keep warm and chic this winter.
"Put on your hat, your scarf and your gloves, all of those
things and away you go."
