New season. Chef Ramsay visits Oceana restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he find the quality so bad he shuts down the restaurant. Can he turn it around this time?
About the show:
Multi Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay is back with his trademark mix of tough talking and inspirational leadership for another foray into some of the country's scariest kitchens in a new season of the BAFTA and International Emmy award-winning series.
This time round, Gordon is pushed to the limit as he faces a succession of terrible restaurants, from a vegetarian eatery in Paris, to a huge curry house in Nottingham, a trip to a meat carvery in Sussex and then to an oyster bar in Brighton with delusions of grandeur. Gordon singularly fails to turn around one restaurant but manages to make another phenomenally successful, tripling its turnover. And there are walk-outs, shut-outs and shouting matches galore, including one obstinate chef who just won't leave until he's physically removed for good.
Irrepressible and irresistible, Gordon's approach is more radical than ever. He makes vegetarian food sexy for the French, uses sustainable seafood to reinvent fish and chips and makes authentic regional Indian food to replace oily slop. He'll also be making several surprise visits to two restaurants from past series to see if they have continued following his advice and managed to break free of their nightmares for good.
Moving, surprising and inspiring, Kitchen Nightmares takes viewers to the heart of the harsh reality of running a restaurant, and reveals that there's always a chance of redemption even with the most seemingly unpromising ingredients.
