Golden Choc Chunk Biscuits
25 g butter or margarine
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup (100 g) self raising flour, sifted
optional extras - 1/4 cup raisins/chocolate chips/ginger
1. Put the butter and syrup into a heavy-based saucepan and warm until it has melted - don't let it burn.
2. Remove from the heat and mix in the bicarbonate of soda and vanilla essence, then mix in the flour. Allow to Cool.
3. Roll the mixture into balls and press flat. Place a square of good quality dark chocolate in the centre of each biscuit
4. Place on greased baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven
at 150C for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire
