About Joe Jonas

Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers

Joe Jonas stars as Joe Lucas, the fearless, attention grabbing lead singer of the group in the Disney Channel comedy series Jonas.

Born August 15, 1989, in Casa Grande, Arizona, and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, Joe was exposed to music at an early age, but had no intention of becoming a singer, and instead wanted to be a comedic actor.

But when he accompanied brother Nick to an audition for the Broadway musical Oliver, the director wondered aloud if Nick had a brother who could sing too.

That comment ultimately gave Joe the motivation to pursue music as a career. With Joe performing lead vocals, tambourine and occasionally guitar, he and his brothers formed Jonas Brothers in 2004.

In 2008, Joe showcased his multiple talents - acting, singing and dancing - in the role of Shane Gray in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock.
