Out of the Big House and onto the big screen
Brax fans rejoice! While he may have checked in to gaol to begin his 15 year sentence for the murder of Johnny Barrett, this won't be the last you see of the oldest Braxton brother.
Steve Peacocke, who has been playing the role of Darryl 'Brax' Braxton since 2011, took a four month hiatus from the show in order to lend his talents to the silver screen.
During this time, Peacocke travelled to Budapest, Hungary, to shoot Hollywood blockbuster Hercules alongside big-name actors Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes and Peter Mullan.
On his big screen debut, Peacocke told Seven "This is an incredible opportunity for me to experience film on a massive scale, work with a world-class director, actors and two of the biggest studios in the world... I was so excited to bring that experience with me when I got back to Home and Away."
But does this mean Peacocke will be hanging up his singlets as Brax for good? Not exactly- Peacocke admits "It was great I was given time off to do this movie, but it was no better than working here [on Home and Away]. I was actually excited to get back to work as Brax.
"I love this job and it is top notch. I love this job more than anything I have ever done. While I did have the best time [filming Hercules], it made me realise just how good the cast and crew are here [on Home and Away] they are world class."
As for Brax's prison sentence, fans won't have to wait too long to see him reunited with his brothers. In fact, the whole Braxton clan is heading to London. As to why, Peackcocke's very guarded saying "The Braxton boys are there for a reason, and that is about all I can say.
"For a long time, I didnt know how Brax would get out of prison and make it to London. I thought there may have [to] be a scene when Brax would be digging his way out of prison and then finally coming up to ground in London after having taken a wrong turn," he laughs.
"But that secret about the murder has been something that Brax has carried with him for a long time. It shifts the balance of power with everyone, but especially the Barrett brothers."
