"Swine flu parties" - it's the craze apparently sweeping through parts of Australia and the US.

The parties are being held by those who already have the H1N1 virus, and are used to infect healthy people, in the hope that they will develop immunity before the flu mutates into a more severe illness.

The governments of both nations have warned against the practice. The Australian government has also pointed out to its citizens that more than 100 people have died from the virus around the world.

ONE News would like to hear from anyone in New Zealand who has held such an "event". Email news@tvnz.co.nz or phone 0800 886397.
