Southland doctors worried about merger

Southland doctors are concerned about a possible merger between Otago and Southland district health boards.

Senior doctors believe more consultation is needed to make sure local access to Southlanders' health services will not be affected.

The merger is pitched to reduce bureaucracy and help bring costs down.

A decision on the merger is expected on Thursday.
