The Ministry of Health is calling on the public to have its say on the regulation of natural health products.

The consultation period will last two months and will guide the drafting of a natural health products bill.

The government describes current legislation as outdated and restrictive.

The industry has exploded in New Zealand over the past few years and is now worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
