Three wards at Palmerston North Hospital are closed to new admissions, after an outbreak of a norovirus stomach bug.
Around 100staff and patients have been affected by the norovirus.
The hospital is asking visitors to keep to an absolute minimum as it tries to try to deal with the outbreak.
